	to comply with multiple State and Federal guidelines, regulations, statutory restrictions, and UCSF policies.
Many of the regulatory requirements and restrictions are expected to change in the near future. Faculty applying for funding for such
	research should review the latest information available at this site before submitting an application.

State of California Regulations:

Effective January 1, 2003, the California Law requires Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for any research involving derivation and use of human embryonic stem cells, human embryonic germ cells and human adult stem cells from any source, including somatic cell nuclear transplantation.
