How do I access
RIO - IACUC and login to the system?
To access RIO - IACUC simply log onto the
Internet, and enter the following address:
https://www.researchapps.ucsf.edu/RIO/Login.aspx
RIO - IACUC is a secure software application so you must have a Username
and Password to log into the system. If you already have a ResearchOnline
Username and Password, you can use them to login to RIO - IACUC.
If not, please complete the application form at https://www.researchonline.ucsf.edu/requestLogin.asp and
you will receive a response in approximately 48 hours.
Note: Your new Username and Password will work immediately in ResearchOnline,
however, there is a 24 hour delay for access to RIO.

Can
I check the spelling on my protocol?
Yes.

If
my research species, personnel, location, agent , or funding
agency is not in the dropdown list, what do I do?
Simply select the “Click Here to Notify IACUC” link
on the page an email, enter the required information, and your
request will be processed. You will be advised when your request
has been completed.

How
do I update my contact information?
Your contact information can be updated in
RIO (see the User Options tab), or in ResearchOnline .
Note: Changes
made to contact information in ResearchOnline will
be reflected in RIO 24 hours later.

want to insert attachments &/or graphics into my protocol,
can I do this? Can I delete attachments I have uploaded in error?
Yes, you can upload Associated Application Files on the Application
Documents page.
If you have attached a document in error,
you can remove it by selecting the "delete" link corresponding
to the uploaded file.

I copy and paste from one RIO-IACUC file to another RIO-IACUC
file while I am online?
No, this is option is not available.

I preview my protocol before submitting to the IACUC?
Yes; go to the Documents page, and click the "Generate
Preview Document" button; the Preview Document is generated
by a batch job and it can take a few minutes before the next
batch job runs. After 5-10 minutes, select the “Click here
to view Preview Document” link.
IMPORTANT: Each time you make changes to your
appplication in RIO, you must press the "Generate Preview
Document" button
again so your changes will be incorporated into the Preview Document.
Simply clicking the blue "Click here to view Preview Document" link
again will not incorporate your changes.
The Preview Documents are saved as a Microsoft Word file,
and contain information from the Protocol/Authorization application.

bit about buttons
After you have entered information into a search
list, text box, etc., if there is an associated "search", "create",
"select", etc. button, you must press the button.
Simply hitting
the enter
key after typing your text will not send your action to the
server for processing.

Once
I have entered all of my information into my protocol application,
how does my application get to the IACUC?
Once you have entered all information into
your protocol, return
to the Main Page (Application Main Page) and select the "Submit (Application Type)" button.
This procedure applies to New Applications, Annual Reviews, Annual
Reviews with
Modifications,
and Modifications.

My
protocol was not accepted by the IACUC &/or Veterinary Pre-Reviewers
- what do I do?
If your protocol has not been accepted
during the Pre-Review Stage, you will
see an ALERT on your Home page to Modify
and Resubmit IACUC Application.
Enter any changes
you want to incorporate DIRECTLY INTO THE RIO-APPLICATION
(not the word document). After you have
incorporated your changes, in order for the Pre-Reviewers see
your changes, you
MUST press the Submit For Review button. |
