THE COMMITTEE ON HUMAN RESEARCH

LETTER FROM THE COMMITTEE ON HUMAN RESEARCH

To:  Faculty and Staff
Date: October 2, 2002
Re: Public Search Engine

In order to assist researchers in recruiting subjects for their studies, the Office of Research has developed a searchable database that will allow the public to search for clinical trials.

Researchers who want their studies to be listed on the website will be asked to complete a short form online. The PI, Co-PI and Contact Person listed at the top of the CHR application may do this by logging on to Research Online.

You can get to Research Online by clicking on this image: Research Online

The Office will be working with the Public Affairs Office to place links at the most convenient web pages for public access. As soon as there is enough information in the database to be helpful to subjects we will activate the public search page. We hope this will take place in late October. At that time the public will be able to search for studies in several ways, e.g., by disease type, by whether normals are needed, or whether subjects are paid or not.

Please review the additional Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

If you need guidance on CHR policies and procedures or have any suggestions about this site, please contact the CHR office at 476-9840 or contact us.

If you have technical problems completing the form, please contact an IT staff member at 476-1300.

Thank you
Committee on Human Research
